How fast should I be able to OC my I5 2500k?

The highest I ever had my 2500K was 4.5 ghz. But after I read this a adjusted the Vcore to 1,39 v . made a couple of other adjustments and booted right up at 5ghz. I don't know if its stable or not don't care . I just wanted to see if this chip would boot into windows at 1.39v / It did . My 2600 k is setup exactly the same . Its been at 5 ghz for over 2 months. 1.39 v and stable

If you are familiar with the UEFI/BIOS, probably 10 seconds. Less if your system POSTs quick.

LOL!!

The problem with these K chips is the vcore is all dynamically preset to the speed of the chip as op reported in the forms.
I have 2500k at 4700 with 1.408v after dropping the offset from +.025 to +.005 the vcove still hits 1.408v on linx.
Most of these chips will need 1.45-1.46 to hit 5000 which means good water cooling is needed for 24/7 use.

My x58 sli mobo does that with my i7 920 when I enable LLC in the bios, but when I disable it I can manually set the vcore. I suspect that it's the same with your mobo, you just need to find the setting/terminology that asrock uses.

i posted a picture of it a few posts above. It is detailed in my sig.

i agree about bang-for-buck. However if you are going for air cooling and are an overclocker, pick a good one - it will likely last for several builds. My old Thermalright UltraExtreme120 is cooling my Phenom II 980 BE at 4.3GHz after years of service cooling my Intel CPUs.

Many enthusiasts won't touch watercooling and quietness is a big factor factor for me (especially because i specialize in video card reviews).

i would be a writer . . .

i just looked in my sig ...
Noctua U12P SE2

haha, my TRUE is still going strong as well. I did have to add a 2nd fan in push/pull to get decent temps at 4.2 last year on my i7. I rigged it horribly and have always planned to go back and "do it right", but it's been 18 months now and I just don't wanna mess with it now b/c it works...

You really need to get banzai duck to write a cooler review at ABT.

By not maxing out the llc I have more control on the cpu voltage.
I reset the {additional turbo voltage} to manual.
I still like my 930 better but now this sb uses half the power of the x58.
