The first one was to a server in Chicago, the DSLREPORTS one was to a server in California.

The DSLReports one seems closer to what I signed up for, 6 meg down, 1.5 meg up.

Much better than the 512K down, 256k up I had in Columbus.

Though that doesn't count when Virgin throttle your speed after d/ling xxGB 😛

I'm paying $110 a month for phone, net, and digital cable.

Plus ~$35 in taxes every month. :frown:

Costs: R600 ($85) for a 3GB capped line. Over 3 GB, 10c (1.4c) per Meg.

I have something most do not, it's called EOPL (Ethernet Over Power Lines). It's a 3MB up/down service. My upload always rocks, great for FTP!
