NY was my fastest Upload (11043) but Chicago (30000+) was my fastest download. I'm in WI so the Chicago makes sense at least...

Everything goes back to two rooms with lots of a/c and LOUD equipment. The MIS guy said there's a pair of OC-3 lines and an OC-12 line coming from the outside world. :)

It would be awesome to hook a PC right up to that Lucent box with the laser warning labels on it.

That sounds exactly like what I have here at work, minus the OC-3s. They're DS3s instead unfortunately. In the server room behind me is probably millions of dollars of networking equip (Cisco 7500s, Akamai, Dell, etc). We serve about 250 T1s, and that's just straight T1s, not Reach SDSL.

Hey now I don't want to get on their bad side. They just gave me some hardware to mess around with including a X1800XT which is really nice. Sad thing is the card has more memory than my old pc it replaced.
