how fast is the PCI bus compared to USB 2.0 bus?

The PCI bus has a bandwidth of 133MB/sec while USB2.0 has 50MB/sec. Also, USB 2.0 has quite a bit of overhead and won't ever reach 50MB/sec. I'm not sure of the overhead on PCI transactions, but the PCI bus is faster.

so if i were to get a wireless G w/ speedbooster card (theoretically 108MBs) it will be faster AS a PCI card than a USB 2.0 card? (theoretically).... right?

Actually, USB 2.0 does 480Mb/s ie. 60MB/s

It is 108 Megabits Mb So that translate to 13.5MB/s, well below USB2 spec of 60MB/s

Megabytes is MB.

II'm to lazy to explain why and how it all works. 😀

I think USB is actually faster. I was reading up on different types of capture devices at work yesterday and to my surprise I found USB had quite a bit higher bandwidth.

PCI bandwidth is shared with all devices on the bus, as is USB bandwidth. So if you already have a sound card, etc on the PCI bus, then you may have just as much bandwidth available on USB as PCI, effectively. In either case, the product you're looking at is much slower than the available bus speed, so it really doens't matter which you buy.
