I have an old Compaq that I want to get rid of and it has a Cyrix 6x86 chip, but I don't know what that equates to in mhz. Anyone know?

The 166+ was 133mhz, but correlated to a P100 when it came to gaming or anything that used the FPU.

The 200+ was 166mhz. I'm guessing the 133+ was 100mhz.

Honestly the Cyrix 6x86 was one of the worst CPUs ever created.

Those 6x86's ran between 133 and 200, if I remember correctly. Their PR number will give you the supposed equivelant Intel speed.

Seconded.

He is saying 1 MHz = 1MHz. We cannot tell you what it is when all you told use was that it is a Cyrix 6x86 chip.

Yeah I used a PR200+ all the way up until 2001. What's so bad about the cyrix anyways? My games did crash often, but that was only if I had the sound turned on.

Your PR200+ was equivalent to a P133 (if not worse) in gaming, that's what's so bad.

I had a 166+GP with the 256/16K L1 and a ATi@play 8mb 192mb SIMM as one of my boxes and for the time it was fine really. Played many a session of Rainbow Six and Descent on that thing :) Funniest thing was that if you overclocked it it would slow down :p

that's not very funny, because it happens to all processors when they get too hot.

IIRC the 200+ was 150Mhz.
