90mph in a 65mph zone (I-5, Oregon) in 1989. The car was a Mustang, but it was my friend's car and I don't remember the year/engine size. I got a $225 ticket. The judge reduced it to $125, and my friend's mom paid $80 for me.

100mph in a 1969 AMX. That was really fun, but really stupid. I was in a 40mph zone (I think). My uncle's car. He knew I loved the car so he let me drive it. I think he knew that I would speed, so we just didn't talk about it.

110mph as a passenger on a Honda (doh! name escapes me, Magna?) motorcycle. We covered a 12 mile stretch between Veneta and Eugene, Oregon, in like 8 minutes or something. It was amazing. We could pass a car that was doing highway speeds like it was standing still. It could have went faster, but we weren't stupid. Oh wait. Yes we were.

All those examples are over 10 years old. Because I'm 30.

Guess I should fess up. Did 197 on a closed circuit. 185 on an interstate in the middle of nowhere. MPH not KPH

Oh yeah on my Hayabusa

<< MistaTakesCakes:

The tollway is my turf

My friend has a Camaro and I have an Olds Cutlass (yeah, his car has 40 hp more than mine, and can smoke mine, but I drive better ), we were racing down the tollway going north under george bush - weaving in and out, crisscrossin..fun sh!t probably scared the crap out of other people, hehe.

Ive done around 105 in my Cutlass on George Bush in Plano late at night..that road is empty. I dont drive that fast anymore though
>>

75 is alright when it's not jam packed. LBJ is hell now though. 🙁

I'd race around where I live (Frisco), but the place is one big speed trap...I find Plano to be a lot more forgiving.. going down Preston around Prosper/Celina/whatever other tiny towns are out there late at night is great though. No cars, clear road.. good place to drag 🙂

<< How fast (airplanes don't count ) and in what? >>

Airplanes don't count? Damn!

Well then that would be 130 on a Yamaha R1! Felt like I would be blown right off the bike! Anyone who tells you they've done 200MPH on a production bike is fullash!t ! 🙂

Wingnut- only 130? Must have been running on 3 cylinders 😉

Saw a few articles in Cycleworld(I think) There is this company modding 'Busas with turbos. Variable boost, so you get 340 to 375 BHP
Costs about 8 K with installation. Now that's a wild ride

room mate has gone 160 mph in a mustang............and in her cyclone gt she went 170.

that said i wont be rideing with her anymore

No, that was all my fairly decent common sense could muster! Strong headwind that night and the headshake was fairly uncomfortable also! 😉

<< 148mph in my '97 Jetta GLX. >>

wow that pretty good.

I got my 2000 jetta Vr6 to go 135mph easily. I am pretty sure i could get up to 148mph, but havn't got a chance to do it.

The fastest i have even been was in a 98 eclipse gsx. It was no joke. The car went 160 with 5 people in the car. but then again, with the mods that was in the car, everything under the hood was no longer mistushibshi. and he could of bought himself two gsx's.

<< Headshake? Not an R1 expert- Does it have a steering damper? >>

Actually this one did but, this was done on a windy night on a long stretch of very unimproved road...not a highway.

<< 119 - Honda Odyssey...a fricken minivan...YES!!
113 - 3 different Olds Cutlass Supremes, including a converitble
115 - Pontiac Bonneville
117 - Buick Regal GS, downhill...got to spend a night in the slammer for that one
111 - Buick Century, just before the motor blew
>>

if thats the old version minivan (before they made it big and gave it the accord engine, then that is HIGHLY DOUBTABLE.

i have the same car....the damn thing Struggles to 80. 90 downhill wasnt too hard...but 119....not gonna happen. i dont have my licence yet so i didnt wanna push it, or id never get my licence ever, but my dad said he got to low 100s....but that thang is slow
