How far can you hit a golf ball?

I recently bought a Taylor Made R580 and can hit it about 290-320 depending on the conditions, but I found that when I pick up other clubs like the new King Cobra 450 I totaly kill the ball about 350. Anyone else not hitting their R580 good? I bought it from 2nd Swing, it was used but when I bought it, it seemed like it was in good condition almost never hit. I think i should have gone with either a Titleist or King Cobra or bought the R580 new. What do you guys think?

The farthest I've balls are about 340 and 320 but they were with 3 woods.

I think I average around 250-260 on good hits using a 3 wood. That's if I hit it correctly. If I count my shanks, then I'm a lot lower.

Hit the pin on a 324 yard par 4, sat on the edge but wouldn't fall!!! That was landing it on the green, no roll. Normally, I average a drive of about 290-295. Cleveland Launcher 460 with the Alidia NV shaft is the way to go... Solid and consistant🙂 A significant upgrade from my Titleist 976R.

Pretty strong man. pretty strong.

You're the reason I love golf threads. As soon as somebody starts one some idiot (that means YOU doma) pipes up with some 4th-grade posturing about how far he hits the ball. Exactly one person on the PGA Tour averages over 306 and long drive contests are routinely won with drives in the 330-340 range, but a little loser like you claims to pick up a new club and start ripping them out there 350. You're a liar doma, at least do a little research about how far GOOD players hit the ball before making up your stories about how far you hit it.

300ish unless I'm hitting a par 3 320, in which case I end up in the woods on the other side of the green every fargin time.

umm, I'll seriously disagree here because I believe you don't play with good golfers.

My 4 some can rip it 325+ rather consitantly (7/10)

The post is "how far can you hit the ball", not "what is your USGA average"

You do realize of course that the "GOOD" players don't need to rip it every time and their average is a combination of course mangement and control?

A good drive for my group is 300+. And anything less than 290 is considered a "wuss, sorry you didn't get a hold of that one but you can make up for it"

Okay, post their long drive results as proof. The long drivers are professionals who train solely for long drive, use special overlong clubs, swing with all their might and only need to hit the grid 1 out of 6 times to win. Yet these beasts, the very best in the world routinely win events with drives in the 330 range depending on conditions. Yet you and your gang hit 325+ 7 of 10 times? You're a liar too or you're measuring in feet instead of yards. If your guys "rather consistently" hit it 325 with ordinary clubs on ordinary courses they're among the few longest hitters in the world and should be making a fortune in long drive contests. How come they're not?

Ha a par 3 that is 320 yards.

I've gone over 175 with a 6 iron. Havn't really used my drivers yet 😱

Weather here took a sudden turn, but I'll be hitting the range as soon as I can 🙂

That's the same math that allows spidey and doma to hit those massive drives. You add 100 yards to your real distance and hope nobody notices.

Because that isn't that long. Long is 325+...280-300 is "good drive", I play with guys that hit a 205 par 3 with a 6 iron.

seriously dude, the question is how far can you hit it. I probably exagerated on the percentage range and it should read "when really hit on the screws, 3/10" but I know can kill it 300 and am tired of being out driven on most holes.

again, the question is "how far can you hit it?", not "what is your handicap"

Why tell your MAX drive and not your swing speed and club/ball used? I swing 115mh (+/-2) with my 45in driver. If i use a RockFlite or Pinnacle, what is my max drive? I can tell you it's around 320 with an average around 290. BTW, I don't use rocks; I liked the Maxfli A10 but thems is no longer made so I need a new ball and I'm too inconsistant to hit ProV1s. Use a ball that doesn't have extremes and enjoy the game.

And I'll still outdrive you.. 😛
