How far can I o/c an 1Ghz T-Bird?

I brought it yesterday. I have ASUS A7V mobo. I noticed ppl o/c 700 @ 1000, that means I can o/c 1000 @ 1300?

Probably not going to happen. The highest you will get is probably about 1150-1200, if you even get that high....As you can see from my signature, I have almost the same setup....

1.1ghz is a normal overclock for that speed. Any higher and you may run into stability probs.

I read some o/c'n article which compared the 1ghz t-bird to the 1ghz pIII. They got the t-bird to 1260 something but they were using water cooling and i'm sure a peltzier, again though that may vary from chip to chip.

Techwhore, Im just curious, I see you have a pretty nice setup and obviously have a good deal of computer knowledge, so why are you still using a voodoo 2000 video card? I mean Im sure you know that you can buy a AGP voodoo3 3000 for less than $80. Im not ctiticizing just wondering.

his voodoo 3 2k is overcloked faster than a 3k at default speed cant you read his signature properly?

*edit* my voodoo 3 3k only clocks at 183 stable aor I get artifacts and snow *edit*

Think yourselves lucky my T-Bird 750 can only run at 800 stable, kind of a kick in the nuts really.

I have gotten my 1ghz amd cpu to 1.250 stable with just aircooling.

what is your setting for multifiers and FSB speed to reach 1250?
Have you tried Prime95 or RC5 to stress-test your OC'ed t-birdie?
