is ultramon free? :)

most features i need come with the free ati software. anyways, its nicer to have identical res because it makes it easier to move from one to another. well.. as long as they are close. it seems the gap to drag stuff between is 1:1 pixel. but u can tell apps to jump to monitors through taskbar anwyas

i'd recommend single agp. less likely to have something totally mess up

no its not free but you cvan make it free if you want to. i paied for mine. and yes haveing a single app is better cause less stuff can fuk up. BUT if ultra mon fuks up it just makes the taskbar go away and you loos teh ability to jump things around. and when it does that its easy to restart the program and it all comes back.

Get a Matrox PCI card from the For sale forum... will work fine as a 2nd video card.

When a program is opened and moved to the second screen, would it be on the second screens taskbar or on the main taskbar?
There is only one taskbar.

WRONG!!! ultra mon allows you to have a second one

and if you are running it then the app appears in the taskbar on teh monitor it is running on

as you can see here
My apologies. I did not use attention software when running my dual and tri monitors. I see no reason to have additional resources being used.

its ok didnt mean to sound mean
ultra mon is only useing 3.4 megs of mem on my system. out of a gig i can spare that :)

and i like haveing 2 taskbars

another vote for Ultra Mon! :D makes using dual monitors so much easier :)

by the way is GapBabe4 cute ?? ;) I would edit that screen shot of yours ;) ;)

so i can have tv on my desktop....

Sure, I use a PCI Voodoo Banshee for my second monitor and it works great. I just make sure to run anything that needs graphic horsepower on my main display.

I'm trying out UltraMon as well...

Before use: thought Nvidia NView was enough to get by.

After use: I was wrong...this is a neat little app.

I agree... I have each of my "settings" finally how I like it on and each on a hot key. 1 for just the Main monitor (most of the time) and I have a different hotkey to turn off my main monitor and turn on the projector (DVI port) so I can play DVD's games or surf on the 100 inch screen... With Nview I had to go in the properties and disable the main monitror and enable teh secondary and back after I was done. This is so much better.

i have a ti-200 as well, the problem is that if i add a less powerful pci video card, then i cant play games on the second monitor =( it might be time to upgrade to a dual output agp card

That's probably going to be what I'll end up doing.

Radeon 9000 Pro > Ti200?
