how exactly do you tell the difference between a geforce ddr and sdr??

Well, if you dont have any model number or markings or anything, you could allways have a look at the RAM chips.

All the DDR's that were made had SGRAM chips on them AFAIK, at least every card Ive ever seen.
SGRAM chips are a bit higher than SDRAM chips, like 2-3 mm, while SDRAM chips, used on the SDR GeForce's are much flatter, more like 1 mm.
