I am very amazed by the house that i am living in. It is 2800+ Sq ft total living space. All appliances and utilities (air/heat, water heater, dryer) run off of electric. With the air (heat pump, yet total comfort) running most of the time all month, in a very hot and humid month in Indiana, my total electric bill was $83.00 including taxes and fees. All that and we do nothing additional to save energy (we take long showers, keep the house at ~74F, lots of lights on, computer and TV are always on when we're home, ect)
I had an apartment once that was about 1/5th the size of this, on the shaded side of the building on the lower level and my all electric bills weren't this low.
