How effective is Tylenol?

I have this headache on and off for the past few days and Tylenol didn't do jack. 🙁

What's the best painkiller out there?

Morphine
Oxycontin
Vicadin

Lots of things you'd need a presciption for.

OTC?

For me it's Ibuprofien. Naproxin Sodium does nothing for me, and Tylenol makes me die.

Hell, I've never noticed any difference at all when taking any OTC painkillers. I don't bother ever taking them anymore since they do nothing for me. Now the prescription stuff is a different story........

Nope, Excedrin takes care of my headache everytime without fail.
Anh yeah, Tylenol is the worst headache medicine. It doesn't do jack.

Yep the OTCs really don't do jack for much people (placebo is part of it often probably), especially if you're used some real pain meds. Anyway, I think Ibuprofen is best, but naproxen sodium (Aleve) ain't bad either.

But still, for instance my wrist has been really hurting, and one day I dreamed that I ingested some oxycodone hcl orally (for reasons other than the wrist), and although the pain was much less, it still was there! I need something stronger! 😉

In my experience, Excedrin works the best, with no real competition, for curing headaches. Unlike ibuprofen, Tylenol, or pure aspirin, it is purpose-built for headaches, rather than generalized pain relief, and I have always found it highly effective. It is actually a combination of aspirin, acetominophen (i.e., Tylenol), and caffeine.

I've had migranes most of my life.....HUGE POUNDING HEADACHES.....as far as over the counter goes I Excedrin Migrane does the trick....if i can't get my hands on vicodin....tylenol doesn't do jack for me

Anacin is the best for headaches...

I have switched to Anacin from Excedrin, it's a bit better, it's just asprin & caffiene, where Excedrin has tylenol as well

Ibuprofin best for muscle aches
Aleve best for joint pain (and I have some)
Tylenol best for fever/flu

I am not surprised. Tylenol like most drugs was only tested on men when in development (due to worries about preganacy issues). It worked quite well. Then just a few years ago, someone finally did a Tylenol study which also included women. The men said it worked well - the women had almost no pain releif at all from it. Men and women are fundamentally different - and thus drugs don't work the same in both sexes.

Every woman I've ever asked doesn't like Tylenol as it doesn't help much if at all for them.

I would have to agree with most people and say Advil. 2 of those and I feel great 😀 Very rarely, like not even once a year do I get a headache I can't get rid of with it.

aspirin and tylenol are analgesic (pain reducer) and antipyretic (fever reducer), whereas ibuprofen is also anti-inflammatory in addition to the aforementioned.

Excedrin has caffeine, which is why so many people prefer it.

I don't really take any general meds.
Mabey a sudafed here and there.
