How does your health insurance with your employer work?

Employer pays my premium 100%. If you want family coverage it's close to $900/month. I only know of two people who have the family coverage. The insurance is pretty good. $15 co-pays for general and $25 for specialists. No referral needed to see a specialists. Prescription coverage is pretty solid. My wife's is very similar with her employer also paying. We pay ~$110/month for a personal policy for our daughter.
 
Just did a little research, and apparently the health care tax is only 6%, so in my case i pay ~$250/month. That's the price for free health care for everyone. (depending on your income of course)
 
You kiddos should feel very grateful.
I am retired & the best plan I found that meets my needs is a $250 yearly deductible with a 20% co-pay for ~$730 mo. (Me & Wifey)!
But before I retired, my last employer was paying ~$650 mo. single plan for me alone, I paid nothing. ( Group plan, 4 out of 7 of us were over 50 years old!)

I assume you don't qualify for medicare?
 
Hmm, interesting thread. I had never heard of 100% premium paid. The best insurance I have had was $400 per month for family. Now I pay like $850 per month for family.

Whenever I have used my health insurance for something more than getting a cough checked out, I get a bill for the portion that is over the negotiated amount. Does that happen to you too?

For example, when the wife had her delivery, we had to pay some more for the charges that were not covered.
 
I've got medical, vision and dental on different plans. The medical is generally 80% with a $150 deductible for a year and a maximum outpay of $1,800 a year. Right now, this normally would cost $77.50 a month but we've got new discounts so that it will cost me $12.50 a month. Course it helps that it's just me on the plan.

standard hmo plan. i pay my monthly pretax fee's, fund my fsa, and go to the in network doc's for stuff when needed for the family. vision + dental extra. we're generally healthy so go with the cheaper 80% specialist coverage plan versus the full plan with fix copays for specialists. glad my employer pays... looked at cobra values and our plan runs ~1400 a month for continuing coverage.

I know right? The last time I worked for a company that paid 100% premium for family health premium paid was with a dotcom and we all know what happenned to those companies. I didn't think anyone out there does this anymore...it's becoming rare just like companies with pensions. I need to hunt these companies down.

$2000 deductible, but there is an $800 HRA.

I decided to put $1600 in an FSA to meet the deductible and maybe buy an extra pair of glasses. I should have just maxed it at $2500 though.

$1500 of 90/10 coinsurance, then 100% coverage.
