We used to get $1,000 per patent application and $500 when a patent issued. We now have a much less generous plan which provides a monetary award of $1000 - $2000 and 100 - 250 stock options after certain milestones (10, 20, 40, 60 patents, etc.).

After 20 patents, you're considered a "distinguished inventor" and get go to an annual dinner.

Most of my patents relate to ink and coating formulations but I have some apparatus patents and one software patent.
