How does Ticketmaster Internet presales work?

How does Ticketmaster's Internet presale work? Are there any restrictions to what tickets you can purchase? How does it differ from the public sale? Anyone know? The only differnce I can see is that I can only buy 4 tix per game vs. 8 tickets. 😕
 
Less people know about the presale so supposedly you have a better chance to get good tickets. They allocate a certain number of tickets to the presale and when those run out you just have to wait until the regular onsale. Obviously different events will have different % allocated. Uhm, so that means you aren't necessarily gonna get a better ticket. I've also found that onsale sales seem to have "worse" allocations as far as locations. Your best bet is to find a ticketmaster outlet that not many people would be buying at, like in a neighborhood where the primary residents wouldn't be buying. This is the key to getting good tickets IMHO.
