How does Ticketmaster Internet presales work?

Internet Public Sale: Fri Sep 27, 12:00PM

How does Ticketmaster's Internet presale work? Are there any restrictions to what tickets you can purchase? How does it differ from the public sale? Anyone know? The only differnce I can see is that I can only buy 4 tix per game vs. 8 tickets.

Less people know about the presale so supposedly you have a better chance to get good tickets. They allocate a certain number of tickets to the presale and when those run out you just have to wait until the regular onsale. Obviously different events will have different % allocated. Uhm, so that means you aren't necessarily gonna get a better ticket. I've also found that onsale sales seem to have "worse" allocations as far as locations. Your best bet is to find a ticketmaster outlet that not many people would be buying at, like in a neighborhood where the primary residents wouldn't be buying. This is the key to getting good tickets IMHO.
