How Does This Upgrade Sound???

My current system is as follows:

-Abit BX6rev2 mobo
-Celeron 433 FC-PGA
-Slotket convertor
-Voodoo3 2000
-128MB PC100 2-2-2 Generic SDRAM
-only fan is rear 80mm exhaust

I would like to first pick up 2 high output 80mm fans to have 1 80mm in and 1 80mm out. I then want to add 128MB PC100 2-2-2 SDRAM. Next would be a cheap GeForce2 MX. Finally, I think I'd like a Celeron 566 that I can run on 100mhz FSB to make it 850mhz.

Now for the questions...Does this sound like a good value upgrade to get better fps in games? Is there a better route you think I could take? Will the 1 80mm intake and 1 80mm exhaust be enough cooling? or do I need a new case? Is it worth it to OC the GeForce2 MX? and if so do I need to add fans or heatsinks to it? And what GeForce2 MX would be the best for me? Do mostly all C566s run at 850? or is there a better cpu speed to get? Would the C566 run pretty cool if I leave the comp on 24 hours a day with the stock fan and heatsink? or should I add something? if so what? Thanks in advance.

That seems great for the value upgrade.
No, I wouldn't tell you to drop those and get the Duron.

I don't think PC133 is more expensive than PC100...might as well.
I like Inno3D MX, cheap, but very stable that comes w/ HSF. (OC it to 190/200 w/ its retail HSF)~ $85?

C2 run fairly cool, if you have Gorb, then you are very much safe to run it 247.(I used to have C2-533@800mhz running 247 w/ ORB for 6 months, before I go w/ AMD)
Not all C2-566 can run at 850mhz, you may get a used one from a reputable member in sale forum for around $80 includs HSF. (make sure get the one that run 100FSB less than 1.8V)

Personally, I would spend a little more money and buy the GTS over the MX. With the NV20 coming out in the next few months the prices on the older Geforce 2 cards should come down. Either way, I would get the next level up video card.

If you plan on using that motherboard you don't really have that many choices.

If you want a great inexpensive gaming rig, then what you had listed before would be great just change it to a MSI K7T Pro2-a motherboard and a Duron 800. MWave.com carries this combo for $213. The Duron 700 is faster and much better for games than the Cel at 850. So the 800 would be overkill :)

You also get PC133 support, AGP 4x and ATA100 support as well. This will prove to be a much better value in the future as well when you upgrade to newer video, memory or ATA 100 drives.

Look at this here on the Anandtech site:

Going with the Duron over the celeron would be around $150 more. With that extra money I could get a much better vid card and overall get much better performance with the celeron. I think I'll go with the celeron and a good cooler. What is the best Celeron speed to try and run on 100mhz fsb?
