Backstory: So my planned "resignation letter" kinda backfired and it only lead me to getting an "4 out of 5" on my preformance review that was due all the sudden and them asking what it would take to keep me on. Well for starters i said i needed a more defined job description (i was not given one from the day i started, they hired me on a whim since i knew the boss and a couple guys within the company wihtout me ever knowing anything more than a $ figure and what they do already). So they said what would you like to be your job title/description. I said give me the wekeend to think it over so heres what i have come up with:

Application Analyst/Developer
Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging and installing to support an organization's application systems. Consults with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify program objectives. May be expected to write documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, and corrections. May require a bachelor's degree. Requires 3-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a range of fields (i.e., SQL, JAVA, HTML, PHP, Flash Actionscript, XML and JavaScript). Must have a working knowledge of relational databases and client-server concepts. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Typically reports to a project leader, team leader or manager. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

I took pieces of a few jobs descriptions on salary.com to come up with that since its prettymuch what i do. They wanted a FULL description so if i leave they also have one to go from i guess (which is why i enclude relevant experience, degrees, etc). I have a degree in mathematics, been programming applications for 4 years now, and utilize all the languges/structures listed there as well as the whole relational db thing. I'm also expecting some level of respect and authority if i do continue on as it comes to decisions about how i program certain things (thus the clauses about "a wide degree of creativty, and reling on experience, etc)
So anyways am i setting my sights to high? is this the sort of description youd expect to see for an applications developer and analyst?

Luckly if this is true it will mean my salary will fluctuate accordingly. My current salary is based on the programmer I salary from salary.com (thats all my management beleives in) and this description comes from programmer II/II applications system analyst II/II and web software developer Sr

How about:

Controls the fate of the company. Has the final say in everything.
