It's the same as any other "Nigeria" scam.

You get overpaid a lot, they ask you to pay back the difference. Few weeks later the original payment gets bounced or bank determines it's not a legit deposit so they take it out of your account and now you ended up losing hundreds and thousands of $$$.

When a check is "clear". It is not really clear since the bank can reverse charge if they found out later it was a bad check.

This isn't Paypal. You don't screw around with banks. You screw with your checking/savings account at one, don't expect to be able to get another one.

If they offer to pay extra on top of the item's cost, it's a scam.

What about a check cashing place? I've always wondered about this. If you cash a check at a grocery store or a check cashing place can they call you months later to ask you to bring the cash back?

Granted, you are moving the scam on to them and that would be bad. But just thinking out loud.

I've seen many emails worded virtually the same way. It's a scam 100% of the way.
If you have any doubt, drop by scamwarners.com and they can give you another opinion.

As others have said, just because the bank gives you the money, it can take weeks for it to officially clear and they get their money. Usually by that time, you already paid the scammer the difference and they disappear with your money.

if that doesn't stick out as a scam to you, then I don't know what to tell you.

thats what i was thinking.
not that i am not sensitive to people learning new languages ()and being unable to use it 100% correctly) its probably that i've read so many bad english scam emails worded so so similarly its like a alarm goes off in my head

just for the record i';m not a natve english speaker and my family still dosen't speak that great english so i'm not dishing on that point.

i wish i know how to stick it to them. teach them a lesson or something. like someone suggested, cash the check at a grocery. i get my money. and if the check is fraudulent, cops go after the bad guys.
