I think one floppy cable will do. An IDE cable won't hurt, either. ;)

Why more Hard drive space? Isnt 30 gigs enough? or are there alot more roms to be got? I have alot of old arcade roms and only like 3 neo-geo because I cant find them anywhere.

I'd get rid of the floppy, maybe even the case. When I do mine I'm just going to ground it and run it bolted down to a wood panel. No need for fancy cables that way either. I'm just doing what is cheapest, looks don't matter inside :p No need for fans either, cutting costs.

The HD is kinda big, I think all the ROMS would fit on a 4GB drive. If you can find a cheap used one (like $15 or so) that may be the way to go. I've got an old 8GB I plan on using.

I'm probably going to go with a Matrox Gxxx since I'll only be doing 2D stuff (assuming they have video out).

Well its going into a really nice cabinet, So i figured It might as well be nice. I would rather deal with new parts then save 100 and have second hand parts in this situation.

I will also be playing nes, and snes on it ocasionally
it will most likely be a complete emu sysem not just mame.

Hmm matrox is a good idea as mame is mainly cpu based....
I read somewhere that you could buy every mame rom on 2 dvdr's thats all I was thinking about.....

Never know what else i might do on it..... gotta think for future possibilitys

The newest release of MAME featured some hard drive games, such as Area51 and San Francisco Rush. Killer Instinct and Killer Instinct 2 are rumored to be added to the next release.

WOO HOO, I was asking about the KI series earlier....

Anyone know if I can get Guantlet... Not the crappy 1 or 2, but the good arcade version like the one on the 64....

Not sure about Guantlet, but the two KI games have already been emulated by a different emulator, KIAME (formerly known as U64Emu). It was written by the same guy that did the first N64 emu if memory serves me correctly.
