I just figured, until then, that there were images from the other side of the mirror that moves at the same speed (on the same drive train) as the ride. When we stopped I was in front of the first, of three, mirrors and I noticed that I could see two carts in front of me by looking at the middle mirror at about a 45 degree angle. The ghost for that cart was still arranged where it should be, over the shoulder of the people in the cart. How do they do this? I know I'm missing something very easy but if what I thought happens, happened then the ghost for the third cart would have been sitting way in front of them (i.e. further down the track). Please help.
I learned about this way back in science class Freshman year of HS.
The mirrors are two-way.
On the other side of the mirror is a track, and on the track are carts that are lined up with the ones on your side. In each cart is a dummy painted with reflective paint, and lit with blacklight to glow.
Since it's dark, the dummy shows up as a translucent figure. It's just a reflection.
Same thign with the dancers. If you look closely next time you'll see that there's a big pane of glass in front of the dance hall. The actual dancing ghosts are dummies on rotating wheels right UNDER you, and you see their reflection.
