To those following this thread: Reread zenmervolt's posts, they are the best yet.

Everyone does not autox, ABS is good stuff for the average driver, rear ABS only is OK, its just there because the rears normally would lock up first (PU's have this problem.)

ABS is tit's on touring bikes because a lock up can cause the bike to fall at speed. Honda & BMW
offer it for this reason.

The original poster is a soon to be new driver, to him I say, be safe and practice.
How often do any of you practice full on controlled stopping. I do. On dry roads the howl of
"were the rubber meets the road" is very telling to the traction available. Turn off the stereo
and listen to your car, its talking to you. Hang up the cell phone and drive..end rant..😉
