Light can't be stored in conventional ways because it's too fast say to put in a bottle. Shine a light into a bottle, for example and then try to close the lid to store it. Doesn't work cause the light's too fast. It got out before you could close the lid. Things that can glow in the dark have little light pipes in them. light shines in one end of the pipe and the pipe is so long that before it reaches the other end the tube ends scome together and seal. Now the light goes round and round in the tube waiting for dark when the tube will open and let it shine out again.

PS, this is how monitors can kill you even unplugged. they let electricity in and cause it to circle round and round in, this time, electricity tubes. When you get inside and touch the high voltage line, the tubes open up and zap you. That reminds me to say goodby, just in case.

What really happens is that it's the end of the tubes that rise and fall in the electron's orbit, but they are too small to see so your science won't learn about them till you start pealing back the curled up dimensions. But trust me, it's the tubes.![]()
You need to do it at night and you have to use a brown bottle like a beer bottle.
How do things that do not glow store dark?
