How does screen resolution affect DVD playback?

My first dvd player is coming tommorrow. 🙂 Can anyone with a dvd player tell me how the screen resolution affects the quality of dvd playback. I usually run my monitor at 1024x768 @ 75 hz. Is there less problems with a lower resolution and higher refresh rate with smoothness of playback. I never really thought about it before until I noticed that some small mpeg movies I have seemed smoother in 800x600. I will find out tommorrow, but I was wondering what other people have experienced.

I run my desktop at 800X600, But when I run Power DVD it brings up a window and says best viewed at 1024X768 and then switches to that res. All movies run fine at that res. Depends on your hardware. Make sure you check that your player is using hardware acceleration and you check the "use DMA " check box in device manager.
