How does Scott Petersen do it though?

Does Geragos give him a discount so he get's his name spread around more as a super lawyer of doom?

At least Petersen needs a lawyer. How does Amber Frey pay for Gloria Allred? Better yet, why does she even need a high-profile attorney? She was not charged with, participated, nor even a witnessed to a crime.

I heard his parents mortgages their house to hire Geragos.

I'm sure he's giving Scott a bit of a break, too, given all the publicity he's getting.
 
First off, he probably has a contract that says Geragos will get lots of money from the movie rights.

Then, part of the lawyer's cost will be from the state which will also grant a huge fund for the defense to pay for investigative costs and costs of getting labwork done, experts, etc. If the panel of judges do not grant this money to him to guarantee a fair trial, then his side can file for dismissal of the case because they were not given a fair chance of defense.
 
Lawyer will do high profile cases for free.
It is better advertising than any amount of money can buy.

hmm I'm also wondering why the hell why his mistress needs a high priced lawyer? Guess she plans on a making a few million from this ordeal too.

Dude, Allred is DEFINITELY doing it pro bono. She's an attention whore.

I'm sure Geragos is doing that as well. Look how well it worked for Cochran. He's a household name now, and his client was guilty too!
 
Mark Geragos is doing it pro bono, his parent are paying for some of the other legal fees, and Geragos requested the state for money to help pay for other legal fees as well.
