like what i said before i edit it out...
it appears to be related to the number of posts currently being updated. if there are only one, you have a longer window... but if someone else reply to another post... say the 'ps3 warranty' one, the time stamp fixes itself. so you have to go to that other post to timewarp.
 
Here's the skinny on the situation from a Source who wishes to remain annonymous: Recently, Anad traded his Ferrari for a DeLorean. Anand doesn't do much these days, shows up in the morning, signs some forms, Chats with the Staff, has Lunch. Most days after lunch he does doughnuts out in the Parking Lot, until a tire blows, he vomits, or it's time to go home. One such recent afternoon Anand was going all out and going faster than ever before when there was a loud Boom. Witnesses say it sounded like a Sonic Boom. Anand stopped, checked the car, but everything seemed fine. The next day the Forum Warping began. Coincidence? Maybe.
