How does one "carefully' remove an AGP 6800 Ultra from a MoBo?

Need to pull this AGP card from the MoBo... without damaging anything. As I recall, it takes a fairly large amount of force to get an AGP card to fully seat in the slot...

1) Are there any easy removal "tricks", or just pull hard?

2) Is there a locking type mechanism such as on memory sticks that I should disengage before pulling?

I'll be grounded with a wrist strap during the operation...

I really don't feel like ruining this card because I was too hamfisted...

Most AGP slots have a lever that is at the inside end of the card that you push down towards the motherboard AFTER taking the screw out of the card. When you do this pull towards you on the connector on the outside of the case at the same time. It shouldn;t take too much force this way.

Thanks for the help!

When you say "inside end", I'm assuming you mean the end "away from" the connectors.

So... in summary... am I understanding this right...?

1) Make sure the lever is pushed down and that the card slot cover is unscrewed from the case.

2) Grap hold of the slot cover and the inside end of the card and pull straight up...

Is this right?

My little white lever is actually away from the connectors(the back of the case). Just press down on it and pull and it should come out without any more difficulty than a pci card of some sort

This is a dual slot video card right? For regular video agp cards I just slowly lift up one end and then the other end. And keep jiggling back and forth up away from the mobo until the card is out.

Dont grab it by the capacitors, if you know what I mean.
But actually, it means computer off, unlock it from its seat, and do not wiggle it the wrong way.

i would
1) unscrew
2) push that latch back toward mobo
3) holding the back plate on the card, and getting one finger on the edge of the card nearest the mobo, ie i put my hand under the card and my finger next to the agp slot
4) gently seasaw the card out until it comes bit lose in the AGP slot, then holding tight (i say this as i have a Leadtek 6800GT, once the weight is off the mobo and case it may slip out my hands taking out my Audigy for sure)
5)once its loose...just pull toward you
