It's close to what I have, but you are backing yourself into a corner you cant upgrade out of. What are you using this for?

instead of that cpu, mobo, ram, and raptor, i'd get a e6600, ds3, 2gb ddr2 ram, and a non-raptor hard drive.

Now the my decision is if I should build a whole new pc, sense my old pc is very outdated, or get a new chair. Right now I am sitting on a fold out chair.

I could do both but I wouldn't be able to get that good of a chair and it wouldn't last long I bet. Decisions, Decisions.

For $1000~ you can get yourself a good Core 2 Duo system with the potential to upgrade down the line, as opposed to a Socket 939/DDR system.

Don't get the Raptor. For what you are willing to spend, a 7200 rpm drive is a better choice. Socket 939 is dead. Go with Intel, or a socket AM2. 1 gig of RAM really is not enough. Go for 2.

Are you sure about the Opteron CPU?

This is exactly what I have but with a geforce 7600GT and its a great build.
Skip the raptor and go for 2 gigs of RAM I would say.
