He makes $25-27 million a year.
NBC declined to discuss the details of Leno's salary, but the new deal will leave him plenty of time for stand-up gigs, something he likes to do to on the side to supplement his income. In fact, the funnyman has stated in the past that he usually puts the money he earns from The Tonight Show in the bank and lives off of appearances at casinos and corporate events. He also moonlights as an author and penned a kid's book last year.

he does stand-up. in fact, ive heard the money he make's from stand-up alone covers the cost of his cars. what the 'tonight show' pays him doesnt even go towards his car fund. at least, thats what ive heard.

I was noticing how Jay Leno has all the HOTTEST cars-his most recent being the Benz SLR 2005.
Seeing how he keeps on getting more and more cars, how the heck does he afford it? His insurance alone must cost the price of a medium sized suburban house..

Classic car insurance is MUCH cheaper than regular car insurance...not to mention insuring TONS of cars is much cheaper than insuring one.
Granted, insuring those cars for the amount they're worth will be more expensive than just getting them insured at all...but it's certainly much cheaper than tons of people owning one car each.

I bet he doesn't even have full insurance on most of them. Just puts the $35 a month storage insurance on them as they sit in his guarded showroom.
