How does everyone feel about this conroe board?

I cant stand these $200-300 motherboards, guess I'm too used to the nforce4 series for amd....

This $82 asrock looks very promising. It is doubtful that it will overclock very well, but it will probably be decent. Thoughts?

Its not perfect, but it sure is a great board for the price.

Really wish it had 24-pin power, not 20... Not sure what they were thinking with that one.

They were probably thinking of users upgrading old systems with older but still good PSUs. For instance, I have a couple of Antec TruePower PSUs that are decent, but only 20 pin. They certainly have the power to run the newer stuff, just not the plugs.

For a relatively cheap board that overclocks, check out the AT article at the top of the homepage. They tested a Biostar Tforce board with the 865 chipset and costing $135, and got decent results.

You can use a 20-pin supply on a 24-pin board. I even ran my Ultra-D with a Fortron 530W for a while.

I remember reading about that biostar, they did get a good overclock on it but is the retail version out yet? I was considering it but I couldnt find it anywhere.
