How does Clone CD work?

I was having trouble backing up some of my games. I was getting Read CD failed errors using Nero. So someone told me it was prolly cause the game was copyrighted. They said to get Clone CD. Well I downloaded it and tried to figure it out, but i am not sure if I am doing it right. When i tried to copy the game it read it for like 10 minutes without going past 0% so i finally stopped it. What do I do.

Make sure your burner is compatible with clonecd, i have an hp9100 which is. Then if it is, write an image to your harddrive oh the cd you want to backup. Select the FES and IBSS boxes when writing the image to your hardrive and leave everything else alone. Once you get the image, simply burn the image to a cd and leave all the default settings alone and it should work fine.

some cd's have different protections, for which you'll need different settings. go to gamecopyworld and download clony, it's a program that will detect the protection on a cd and send the settings needed to copy it to clonecd.

Be aware that to burn the image clonecd recommends 1x speed and some games can take an hour to burn through the encryption. I used to experience 45 minutes for 1% on some games then a fairly rapid completion. No game took longer than an hour and a half.

check out the gamecopyworld link for clonecd settings and recommendations.

selecting "Fast error skip" usually speeds up the reading process for games that have a bunch of errors in the first sectors (Safedisk?). And I usually burn at 10 or 12X and never had a problem...

Okay burning the image to the hard drive went fine. Then when i tried to burn the image to the CD it gave me an error saying it failed.
