How does carryout pizza work?

I just ordered a carryout pizza in order to save $2 delivery fee + $2 tip.

How does this work? Will they call me or do I just show up at their estimated time?

Edit: What is the problem? I placed a carryout order online. It didn't say how it was going to work.

Edit2: You guys suck.

Edit3: I got the pizza. And you guys are still jerks.

Most likely if the website didn't say that they will call you, then they will not call you.

Just wait 15-20 mins after ordering and go get it (more or less depending on how large your order is and how busy you might think they are).

I've never done carryout for pizza before. Usually I call into a restaurant and they call me when its ready. I ordered online and nothing was mentioned. The confirmation email contained an estimated time.

they won't call you, not any pizza place I know. They give you an estimate and you show up. If it takes longer you wait, or you could just wait longer to go and pick it up whenever. It's not rocket science.

order + pick up + eat = win.

Honest question: which restaurants call you back? All the ones I order carryout from just give me a time estimate when I call the first time.

I can think of a Thai restaurant, a Vietnamese restaurant, a little sandwich shop....

Would you really want them to call you when it's ready? Or maybe you could show up before it's ready, so when you get it, it's actually fresh.

seems out of the ordinary, ive never had a place call

just go pick up your pizza in the estimated time. im sure they wont mind if you wait, or if youre a little late, as long as you have money.

it should say in the email they send you how long it will take for it to be ready. typically it's 15-20 minutes.

having worked in a franchise pizza place, people who place orders online for pickup usually show up 15-20 minutes. if there's a deluge of customers (usually on special events like Super Bowl, or Fri/Sat which for my franchise at least was the busiest day), ith might take as much as 25 min.

we never called back.
