I like his work with Kevin Smith. Of course that's more the material than anything else. I'd say that's his best work over all in terms of acting.
He also did well in Changing Lanes, though. That was probably his best leading role.
What he did Shakespeare in Love was more amusing, as it was just a supporting role.

The only decent movie Kevin Smith did was the one without Affleck.

Boiler Room, that's about it. The "pecan pie" bit in Reindeer Games goes down in history as one of the most implausible, forced, and just plain ghey performances this side of the Mississippi.

Then may you enjoy a happy life of watching nothing but Jersey Girl and Mallrats. Kevin Smith is a one-shot wonder who reached his peak in Clerks and then started believing his own press. Since then his movies have gone severely downhill and not been able to hold a candle to Clerks. Every movie resorts to the same tired in-jokes, self-references and scenes that have been dragged out of past releases and used again. Every. Single. Film.

its funny how everyone on these boards hate any male that every girl loves ...

ben afleck is a decent actor IMO, stop hating on him because he can get more poon in 1 hour than most of you can get in your entire life. im sure you all probably think brad pitt is a horrible actor as well huh. same with tom cruise.

Good Will Hunting and Dogma are really the only movies I've seen, that I can recall, that had Ben Affleck in them. And I liked both those movies. Actually, I think Ben Affleck and Matt Damon just made a cool acting duo.

I can't believe that no one has mentioned his best role: Dazed and Confused
