How the heck does my Asus 333fsb run faster then a Abit 400mhz fsb mb?

Mobile AMD XP 2600+ Inside of both.

The exact model of ram is in Both Geil 3200 400mhz.

They both are Nforce2 and have the 512mb sticks in for dual channel. Only the loosing abit has a 1gb Geil 3200 in the extra slot while the winning asus has another 512mb in the extra slot.

Asus 333 is doin 11.5x200 "2.3ghz 400fsb" and the Abit 400 is only doin 11x200 "2.2ghz 400fsb...

Sure the FSB will raise sum on the Abit 400 only if you lower it to 10.5 and then its making the Ghz lower like 2.163 and only adden say 12 mhz to the FSB. I guess you can say the abit is slightly faster if ure a FSB nut though.

My conclusion is that the CPU in the Abit is just under par to the one in the Asus "OR" Asus just 0wn3d Abit with l33tness.

Heck only reason I got the abit was the asus's SATA broke. My friend said he would use it with IDE drives. So I sell the MB to him and he gets my setup in parts almost exactly for what he can afford hence the extra 512mb stick instead of the 1gb.

He has plenty of money now and really he had made me mad for certain personal reasons he did some stuff I will not discuss to get him the top ranking PC for consumers a few months ago and got reemed in the price of it. So he gave me his old one and he accidently bought a x850xt PE AGP for a SLI PC. $580... non returnable so he gave me the card also. I guess he wanted me to forgive him for being a B****.

So now I got 2 pc's I can' see much use in it unless I had a good upload for bandwaidth though...

What would you all do?

What??? Did you actually read it?

You had 4 minutes to read it all realise what I am saying and then write and post a reply.

The CPU can be set to whatever it wants to be set to. Weather it works at the setting is the problem...

I don't understand that reply man...

My CPU's can do 333 348 367 whatever and it can do 400 or 404 406 412...

If the multiplyer is turned down a little... If it is up to high you cant get over the 400...

If its to high in the asus MB then you cant get to 400...

Am I missing something???

Just because the processors are the same doesn't mean that they will both be able to reach the same speeds. The CPU you have on the Asus motherboard is probably just a better overclocker.

I think I will swap them and let ya know what happens at a later date.

Yes, both are the same AMD XP Mobile 2600+ I believe I read once they varied in speed. Like right now I am as fast as a 3200+ all because the multi isn't locked and the fsb on them supose to be like uhh 233 I believe. So 400mhz is a good OC.

If you lookup the proc it still costs the same as a 3200+...

AMD Mobile XP 2600+

AMD XP 3200+ "Not Mobile"

See... :)

Don't ask why I didn't just get the 3200+ and OC it please... It was way way more expencive. I don't think the Mobile 2600+ has hardly dropped price at all.
