Supercharger is run via a belt and a turbocharger is run off of the exhaust.

turbo uses exhaust side to propel the intake side to increase pressure. supercharger uses a belt to increase intake without interfering with exhaust

Simplified, Supercharger = Power instantly at take off, possbily less power at higher rpms. Turbo charger = Lag at take off, possibly more power at higher rpms.
