How does a COD work?

Update Question:

Who do you make address the money order to?
Is it the person who you bought it from or the carrier?

A: who's the carrier? UPS will not accept cash. they will accept always take cashiers check/money order. they may not accept a personal/business/3rd party check if CC/MO is indicated on the tag. Dit for FedEx, but fedex will take cash. USPS is like UPS, however they will take cash and convert it to a M.O. for an additonal fee

Do you get a receipt once you give the delivery person the $$ regardless who the carrier is, i.e. FedEx, USPS, UPS?

depends. most shippers only give a reciept to the sender. the only time i've seen a copy of the reciever's reciept is on an OLD UPS COD tag (3-4 years ago).

bump for updated question.
