how about Fuel Filter.. is it important to replace fuel filter once in a while?

Yes. Every car is different but 30,000 miles is a good average for most newwer cars. Older ones, esp. carb, 10,000 miles would be the old number to keep up with.

heh, yeah, mine says it'll last the lifetime of the car 😛 that and it's a PITA to change apparently (mazda3).

Whenever the little book says to. The more poorly maintained the service stations or poorly handled the fuel, the more it has to remove.

Oil filters are a scam. Just another way for the auto industry to get your money!!!

Ah, I see, another DuraLube customer.

On a side note, I laugh everytime I see a 4 cylinder blaze past me on the highway because I know their oil filter is being bypassed when they do that.

WTF

I shall expand further on my observations. Oil filter helps in keeping crap out of your engine. It does its job by blocking particles with it's filtering membrane. This obviously reduces flow of oil to your engine, so if your rpm is high enough (say 3500rpm), oil filter will stop filtering and let the oil flow unfiltered. And a 4 stroke doing 140kph is definitely over 3500rpm.
