Is this common for people to have so little money that they bounce cheques for 20 dollar items? I can't imagine that level of poverty.

Nothing at all wrong with writing checks for either of those... they're the legitimate kinds of things normal people write check for.

Yes. People forgot that a check is not cash, but a promissory note which is held in a accounts receivable account. A mortgage needs a line of credit, a 20 dollar pizza does not. A pizza should not take 30 years to pay off either.

If you ran a ice cream business with even 200 billion in accounts receivable but no cash, you would be out of business in a flash when your creditors come calling for their money. So you want that accounts receivable turnover to be very quick.

Was suing him the right course of action? I would of just black listed him and never serve him again. Accepting checks for perishable goods is also not a smart idea either. A business who accepts checks for pizza is really opening themselves up to a lot of risk, and they know it because they're trying to increase their sales as much as possible. At least a credit card will ding the owner of the card and not the business, though the business owner has to pay transaction fees for credit cards.

What kind of ghetto pizza place doesn't take cash for deliveries?

None of those exist up here. We have the pig names of course, Pizza Hut, Domino's, Little Caesars, etc.. I think the best stuff comes from small places though.

I live in CO and I know Russell. I am telling you this is not uncommon for him or out of character for him. I have seen him talk his way out of shit nobody else would be able to. He has posted a response to try to redeem himself. Turns out he called the news station himself to try to prove a point against Dominos, but it flipped on him and made him look like an idiot who has a flawed story and is irresponsible. Here is the link of his responses and others comments. I have no sympathy with him as I have seen his actions firsthand. Not a smart move to draw this kind of national attention to himself. Not a smart guy at all.

In my area, Papa John's only takes check or CC. My wallet sits in the car in the garage, and sometimes I don't feel like going out to get it, so check it is.
