I think it depends on the game. I remember this being possible with UT2004.

There isn't a universal answer. Every game is different.

If you want help for specific games there are other forums (maybe megagames or gamecopyworld) that can help.
The other idea is to simply rip the CD's to ISO files and then mount them as needed. You will probably need to bypass the CD check though.

Ah ha.

Well WOW doesn't depend on any external entries. So all you need to do is install the game, patch it up, then simply backup the game directory. You can then move it over to a new PC and it will run fine!
