I dled memtest86 and burnt it onto a cd. But the website doesn't explain much nor does the readme, and the menu sucks.

I would like to have it running for 8 hours, my understanding is that it runs continuously automatically, right?

I would like to just test one test, to see how fast the memory is. How do I do that?

Is there any one test that's better than the other, cause there seems to be 12 of them?

THX in advance.

I ran exactly that and no errors showed up, but I'm getting memory errors when I play HL2, what gives?

Is it not a very good stress test or what?

It is a great stress test...It is simplified but it is effective. Are you ocing the vid card memory?? Possible glitch in the HL2 software or compatability isse??

try looping test 5. 1-4 are generally cpu/psu related errors

If you have memory problems memtest will find them. Another good system stresser to run is prime95 torture test. If you have any hardware issues, or instability, prime95 will error.

Try memtest86+ 1.40 and run with Prime95. If all fine but still error in HL2, then mostly due to software (windows) error or incompatibility. Maybe can test again with no overclocking at all.
