how do you tune your printer so it matches your monitor?

You throw away the monitor and use your printer as your monitor. You may experience slow framerates in games, but it shouldn't be that bad.

You tune the monitor to match the printer.... And they make special software specifically for that purpose.

the HP Officejet T45 did it right.

my Officejet 5610 is terrible at perfectly matching, it's so terribly loaded with pre-inserted improvement technology that inkjet printers are better and worse for some, the images are nice, but when you seriously need a black and white image, it's way offfff...

laser printers work well for that
