How do you train for an eating contest?

A few of us love eating contests and there's this one we do at a local creamery. If you finish 3 huge (HUGE) scoops of ice cream in 20 minutes you get a free t-shirt.

Fair enough. First time I tried it took me 19 minutes and I almost threw up. I had a t-shirt on and I was shivering for 20 min afterwards. As a result I had to drink warm water and that filled me up big time which made me slow down. Second time shaved it down to 13 minutes. Down to 9 minutes on the 3rd, and 7:30 on the 4th time.

My friend is good enough he does it in 3:45... HALF my time. The thing is out of our group of people who do these insane eating contests, I clock in at #2 but I'm clearly a distant #2. The rest of the guys can do it too but barely under 10 min. It's ice cream so not as many people participate.

Last semester the ice cream champion and one of my other friends faced off at In-n-Out doing 4x4s. They went through 3 of them with bread and did a 4th one without the bread. I tried to start one last week but the ice cream champion wasn't really down for it. We got through 2 before we decided that we would do it another time. I probably could've crammed a 3rd one in but by then I would be pretty close to throwing up. I don't see how they got to 4.

Anyways, we're thinking of doing a sushi eating contest this weekend. Yup. We're gonna buy a party tray of 100 CA rolls and down them. How can I prepare?

Drink a crap load of water the day before you have the competition, like enough that it hurts. It will make your stomach expand and when you get to eating you'll have alot more room.

Disclaimer: When you have to pee, go pee. You can die from drinking too much water and not peeing it out.
