You are in a fast food place. You just finished eating your meal. You have a soft drink and some has been left over.

How do you dispose of it?

If there is no self pour fountain, I stuff a bunch of paper tissues into the cup before throwing it away. Otherwise, I pour out the remaining drink before discarding everything into the trash.

I remember seeing a fast food worker once pull a bag of trash and it was 1/4 full of soda. Imagine that sucker popping or springing a leak.

Also, if I am out in the street and I need to throw a drink away, I'll pour it out on the street before throwing away the drink container into one of the sidewalk trash bins.

Throw it away? Fill that up and share it with your brother.

Is the "I am a raging moron" option about the OP?

If so that's got my vote hands down:colbert:

if there's a convenient place to pour it out, I'll do that, but I'm not going to go out of my way going into the bathroom or something to pour it down the sink.

otherwise, I just toss it in the trash but try to make sure that it lands facing up so that it doesn't spill out of the cup.

At Costco if I have some left in the cup, I pour it out in the machine I get the soda from, then throw the cup away. I figure less weight in the trash for the people who empty them. Most of the time, I finish the drink though.

Please stop.

Nothing worse than stepping in a sticky mess of half-dried soda, latte or not-so-smoothie in a parking lot, on a sidewalk or anywhere else.

Trash receptacle, please.

Finish my drink; I paid for it. It doesn't make any sense to pitch it.

I don't pour anything on the sidewalk - I pour it on the street - to avoid exactly what you stated.

It crosses my mind every time I toss a half finished soda in the trash can, "I wonder if that shit's gonna make a mess later".

It's not just make a mess, but it's also heavy as fuck to lift a 50 gallon garbage bag full of half drank cups into a dumpster.

Depends on how much is left. If it's almost gone, trash, If there is quite a bit left I'll take it with me. after all I did pay for it and I don't like to waste it.

This is a problem for the restaurant, if they choose not to do anything about it then it really isn't my problem.

Drink is going in the bin, cleaner is getting wet feet, I don't give a fuck.

Yes, a big pile of sugar stuck to the street is far preferable to encasing it within the plastic tomb of a garbage bag. Ant infestations from a substance that can only be removed through pressure-washing? That's just so much more convenient than having to take an extra trip to the dumpster.

At a fast food joint, it just goes in the trash.

At home, it gets dumped because it takes a lot longer to fill a trash bag, giving it a much greater chance to leak.

At work, it gets dumped because shops never use trash bags.

I would refill it and take it with me.....
If by some odd chance I did not want to take it with me I wouldn't think about dumping it though.
At home it would get dumped in the sink first.

i throw it away all in one...whether in public or in the street....

this is why liners were invented, and given the weight of a public bin, the coke or water or whatever would get mashed up/evaporated by the time it's cleaned....

and a coke in BK or wherever only costs...what a couple of pounds? hardly worth the Earth itself, i just cut my losses and move on..
