It was almost 100 here yesterday.

Probably pretty typical really. 70s and 80s during the day, 50s at night. Some rain occasionally.

Probably very wet as usual, but I'm holding out hope for buckets and buckets of snow! :awe:

It was almost 80 here...dammed tomato plants keep producing, covered in new blossoms, same with the pepper plants.
I know winter is near though...the leaves on my blueberry bushes have all turned red. My Japanese Maple is still green though. I expect it to turn pretty soon.

Kids went snow skiing last sunday. That bodes well for snowblower use this year

I'm hoping that around Thanksgiving, it drops below 30, snows, and never gets above 31 degrees until mid February. I hate freeze/thaw cycles. Makes it muddier and messier outside.

edit: I'm also predicting that we get 1 or 2 cold weeks, but like last year, no record lows, or anything even close.

Probably a week of rain in December, then another week of rain in January/February.

I may need to put on a light jacket or sweatshirt in the evenings for a week or two in January.

It is 88°F right now.

I just returned from 6 days in Cocoa Beach, FL so I don't want to even think about winter, it is depressing enough already. :(

This will be my third winter in Virginia and I've been told they are normally nice. Last years was especially rough so this one is supposed to be mild.
Just in case, I got long johns and coveralls and heavy boots. And extra shovels. And tire chains. And 500 pounds of mother fucking salt!

Well, last winter, the trains were delayed a total of 83,000 hours here because of the snow. I'm hoping it won't be that bad again...

I dunno. At the least Loveland and A-basin are usually open by late-October/early-November because of snow-making. I don't think they're good indicators. This has been a really warm Fall so far, and I think it'll turn to be a very unimpressive Winter. I hope I'm wrong and we get rocked like 2006/2007.

edit:
11/09/2010: Wow, today's, and the season's, first snow was pretty impressive. And then another storm on Thursday that should be heavier. I'll gladly eat my previous words above. This makes me excited for the season....too bad the tires on my car are total scheit.

Just absolutely lovely. Tomorrow will be 65 and I'll be out getting a tan. I will attempt to take every Friday off in Jan/Feb to enjoy the weather. I guarantee that I will be sunning myself in mid-February.

I'm guessing mid to high 70's during the day... 60's, maybe high-50's at night... with the occasional rain storm.

Pretty much like always. :p

I duno, but it will most likely snow.

I hope it stays below freezing and just accumulates snow though. I don't like when it melts then refreezes as ice then joins slush with mud into a giant shitfest where your pants get all dirty and it looks like you pooped yourself.

Looks like the temps will be about average and it may be a little dry. I think our coldest day in January averages something like 61/45.

I predict the coldest and snowiest winter of the past 40 years for the NYC metropolitan area.
