Yep... seems pretty decent.
As for GC - get a Radeon LE - It'll run at standard Radeon clock easy.
RAM and possibly CPU... get it from compuwiz1 - his prices are great and most chips do 150 cas2

thanks, I was thinking of getting my stuff from compuwiz or the chip from compuwiz and the ram from jkdude, but I'm not sure. As for the radeon I am not too impressed with it in my friends system, I see no difference between it and my other friends geforce2 mx. Anyone else have any thoughts?

The diff on the radeon and mx is the 32 bit performance. In 16 bit my mx out performs my budies radeon 32m ddr not the le. Its whether you want 32 bit colot which looks better. I sold that radeon to him cause it wont work in my mobo(it sucks though) I'd still go with the radeon and will with my new board. I may wait for the big gts price drop in a couple months though.

I would pick the Radeon between radeon LE, Geforce256 32DDR, or Geforce2MX anyday! IMHO..
Get the Radeon! For $80, you cannot go wrong!

Hope I"m not too late, get a GeForce2 GTS card. You can pick them up hella cheap and they're about double the 3D performance of an MX. If you like to play CS like you said you won't be disappointed in this upgrade.

thanks everyone

the thing is I think the radeon is the best for the money, (81 bucks shipped!!!) and I will be going with that. The only reason I was skeptical was that my friend just got one and quite frankly it is only so-so. Of course my computer will be a lot better than his and I wont be afraid to change the clock and all that, so I think radeon it is.

the regular radeon clock is what? 150/150? I cant remember 183?

Changing the clock will probably only give you a 4% performance boost. Glad you game to a decision though. Going back to the overclock thing though, you really won't notice much, if any difference when upping it.

Also, your system's speed really doesn't affect 3D performance above 800x600.

Yeah, he was running his computer at 800x600 (15 inch monitor) so maybe that was it. also on my friends geforce mx there is a little box on his screen that is fuzzy and not as sharp as the rest, which can be very annoying. I know that is just his computer, but my friend with the radeon hasnt had any problems at all. As for the rest of the system how does it look?

any word on the extent of the pricedrops on march 5/6??

should I go DDR??

what do you guys think
