I couldn't swallow pills for the first 15 years of my life or so, it freaked me out and I would always choke and gag. What helped me is taking it with a big gulp of water, letting your throat relax, tilting your head back, and not rushing it.
Take 1 banana, cup of raspberries, cup of straberries, 4oz yogurt, 1 scoop protein powder, 1 pill, and mix together in blender. Drink beverage. Pill consumed. Problem solved.
I have never been able to swallow a pill. I guide the pill over the lump in my tongue with my finger so it is sitting at the back of my throat. Then drink and swallow.
Wow. All these people suggesting methods that involved opening or pulverizing the pill forgot to add the disclaimer that you shouldn't do that with sealed pills. Either that or they were too stupid to realize that they may be rendering medication completely ineffective. Ever think it might be in that gel cap so that it will make it to your stomach without reacting to air, water, or whatever the help is in your smoothie?
very rarely can i do it without water or some other liquid, like soda or milk.
Even then sometimes I have trouble swallowing the pill, especially if it's a large pill.
