How do you survive when your internet goes out?

Dear God! Comcast was out for AT LEAST half an hour here in Montgomery County, MD. I was peeing my pants

It's funny actually; I was reading Dezign's thread about going to a gay club and saw her offer the link to her friend Kat. I was too lazy to click it but then I saw a few "I'd hit that"esque responses so I went back to check and IT WOULDNT OPEN. About twenty minutes of frustration and reboots later (I was using my newly installed wifi so I didn't think it was a neighborhood-wide outtage) I finally gave up trying to see what "Kat" looks like.

Well luckily, comcast brought it back up pretty quick. The bad news is that the pic of Kat turned out to be a broken link :|

My internet goes out maybe once every 6 months, and then I just play solitare/go outside and do something until it works again.

internet goes out ... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

that happened a few weeks ago ... a ups truck crashed into some utility poles in the area ... cable (i use comcast for internet and ctv), phones, and power went out ... power was back after like 1 hour, but I was 24 hours without cable and phones .... It was horrible ...
