how do you spice up plain oatmeal?

I don't. Always hated oatmeal, even as a kid when my Mom used to force it upon me. Not sure why - texture maybe? Odd because I could snack on Cheerios all day long.

I was gonna say add milk to get the consistency you like, then add brown sugar and raisins as the best way but the way lolawiz described sounds heavenly. Not sure if I have the time. got the rum, though!

they kind of get "worn" looking and i have found will eventually decompose. although, i guess you could not keep them in the rum the whole time. once they are plump, transfer them into a air-tight container without a lot of moisture. that could work.

Hehe... I think teachers should carry some around, except soaked in only rum. That way, when kids start acting up, here, have some raisins... They'll never know what hit them!
