How do you setup a raid0

Ok sorry for asking so many questions. I will be ordering all my stuff very soon so I want to grab all my intel now so I will be ready.

I plan on installing my os on an intel x25-m

I also plan on having 2-3 150g velo Raptor drives in raid 0 or if there is a better raid then that one.

I am probably goin to run 280gtx sli and then have my 3rd pci express slot be for a raid controller card to get the best performance out of my hardrive. My question is how do you setup a raid after I have my os installed on the intel x25-m. I will be using the velo drives for gaming win rar par files dvd burning so on so forth.

Also I should mention that I dont have a floppy disk drive. If possible I would like to skip over getting one.

Edit: sorry thought of another question to add. Can you have more then one raid in one system. If you have a controller card.

Like if I had a controller card that had 4 slots for sata on it. Could I put 2 Intel x25-m and 2 velo drives on it. Or would I have to run 2 from the controller card and 2 from the motherboard. Also would the one controller card be sufficient enough to handle all that speed.

Any version of RAID is better for your data. RAID0 should only be used when you don't give a damn about the data on the drives.

Unless that controller supports restriping the data, you don't.

Then your only choices are to use Vista or slipstream whatever drivers you need onto your XP disc.

The number of arrays that you can setup depends on the controller.

A hardware Raid card will cost you generally starting at around 300 or maybe more. IMO the noise isn't worth it over the performance boost. I'd rather use my old 15K Ultra 320 over 2 150 Raptors..

You should be able to, yea. I'm sure there's an upper limit but I'd be willing to bet any controller will let you do 2 arrays unless it's really crappy.
