How do you RUN a .bin file in LINUX? Anyone install Star Office 5.2???

I downloaded it from Sun's website. it's a .bin file.

How do I install??? I am running RH7

Installation

Just do it as a regular user and you'll probably have to put a ./ to tell the shell to run it from the directory you're in at the time.

at a command line type &quot;./so-5_2-ga-bin-linux-en.bin&quot; or whichever version you downloaded.

I take it you did a chmod 777 <filename> the it was executable and worked.
